![]() ![]() This did not correct the problem and now the devices were listed as Unknown. So I uninstalled those and then rebooted. I thought there may be a conflict with the Windows UAA Audio System drivers. (Makes sense as you can carry audio signals out on HDMI as well as video.) I did some digging and it turns out the Nvidia drives also contain HDMI audio drivers. I first attempted the audio drivers from the manufacturer. I check Device Manager and found 4 unknown devices listed as "audio device on high definition audio bus driver." I attempted to let Windows (XP SP3) find the needed drivers. However, upon reboot the new hardware wizard popped up. I had to setup a dual monitor on a users PC and install a new Nvidia video card. So, when i read your last post i couldn't figure out why-the-heck a display driver would be dependent on an audio bus driver (i.e.Not sure if anyone else ran into this. => On reboot, Windows redetects the UAA Bus driver and HD Audio drivers and reinstalls both => Uninstall MS UAA Bus driver then reboot > And typically installing SP3 followed by the audio drivers is sufficient > I knew about the MS UAA Bus driver being packaged in SP3 With that info i did a bit of investigation. > So a bit confusing as to just what's going onĪH-HA!
